The first step is to create an hosting account and log into it. You can create an account here by clicking the Create Account button in the sidebar.

If you have previously created an account, you can login by clicking the Login button in the sidebar.

The next step is to register a domain name, this is what your website URL is, what people type into the address box on the browser to open your site. It can also be he part of you email address after the ampersand (@). Once you have thought of a name that you like, type it into the textbox to the right and click the GO! button. A tab will open on your browser that will show of your desired domain is available and also list other possibilities.

A note on the domain name that you select. It consists of two parts, your domain identifier, a sting of letters, numbers and dashes (-) or under-bars (_). The second part is the Top Level Domain (TLD) and it is separated from your identifier by a period. The common TLDs are com, org, edu, and net. Though this is not rigorous, com is usually for commercial sites that sell of promote products or companies, org is normally used by non-profit organization or families and fraternal organizations, edu is reserved for educational institutions while net was reserved for the Internet itself. There are many TLDs besides the common ones and they can be viewed at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Internet_top-level_domains.

It is advised that you register your domain name at this time, domain names can disappear quickly. After you have done that, come back to this tab and we will continue with setting up your site by clicking on the Hosting Plans in the menu on the right.
